Even though I spend many weeks in the spring and fall in Italy, and a great deal of time back home studying Italian art and culture, sometimes a fierce longing for that most beautiful country overtakes me. It happened today.
Looking for something to ease my heart's yearning, I came across a lovely video that combines paintings by Botticelli with the music of Antonio Vivaldi, titled Botticelli con Vivaldi . I thought you might also enjoy taking a 5 minute break to feed your soul. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Most, though not all, of the paintings in the video are in Florence and we'll see them on the Tastes of Tuscany Tour: October 13th-26th.
This tour gives an in-depth experience of Tuscany. You stay in a charming boutique hotel in Florence,
see Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, Fiesole, and the Boboli Gardens, and enjoy two days of hands-on cooking
classes in a villa outside the city. Of course, you'll see the famous Renaissance treasures like Michelangelo's David and Botticelli's Birth of Venus, but you'll also see some gems that most visitors miss. And the food, and the shopping...
I can't wait to go back and share my love and knowledge with the women on the tour. There are a few places left, but the deadline of July 31st is fast approaching. Contact me right away if you are interested and want to hear more.
